, which is stronger? That question has been around ever since the two showed up. Palkia has only one weakness so he must be stronger, right? Wrong. Dialga has Roar of Time and could demolish Palkia in one blow. That makes Dialga stronger, right? Wrong again. Dialga is weak against Ground, Fighting, Dragon type moves; Palkia can learn all of those types. So which is stronger? It all depends on moves, the enemy, the item they hold, and their Natures.First of all, let’s compare the two. Dialga is a Dragon/Steel type meaning when he has a Steel type move or Dragon type move it is powered up
a little when he uses it. Palkia is Dragon/Water type, and as with Dialga, when he uses a Water or Dragon type move it is slightly powered up. Both have the ability Pressure which makes the enemy use one more Power Point (PP) when attacking. When learning moves, they are surprisingly in sync with each other as all but 3 moves are the same from level to level. At Base level they both learn DragonBreath and Scary Face, at level 20 Ancient Power, level 30 Dragon Claw, level 50 Heal Block, level 60 Earth Power, level 70 Slash, and level 80 Aura Sphere.However, they also have their differences. Palkia has more Speed then Dialga (due to his Steel or Palkia’s Water type I’m sure), but Dialga’s Roar of Time has more power then Palkia’s Spacial Rend. When it comes to learning moves they have Metal Claw and Water Pulse at level 10, Roar of Time and Spacial Rend at level 40, and Flash Cannon and Aqua Tail at level 80. Weakness is little when it comes to Palkia as his only weakness is Dragon while Dialga is weak against Ground, Fighting, and Dragon types. When it comes to resistance Dialga is uneffected by Poison while Grass, Normal, Water, and Electric deal half their damage. Palkia has no immunity to any type but Fire, Water, and Steel type moves deal half their damage.
There are many items they could hold in order to power up or weaken a Super Effective move. Berries, Bands, and their orbs all could boost attack, defense, etc. Or just Dragon, Water, Steel, etc. There are way too many to name, but I would suggest having Palkia or Dialga hold their orb which boosts the power of their Dragon and Steel/Water moves.
Natures and Personalities of Pokémon affect what grows most and by how much. Hardy doesn’t affect any stat while Lonely raises attack most when leveling/when its favorite Poffin is given to it and slowly raises defense when leveling/Foul Poffin is given to that Pokémon. Personalities are kinda the same. Loves to Eat raises Heath Points (HP) while Highly Curious will raise its Special Attack. As there are 25 different Natures and 30 different Personalities, I won’t name all of the combos.
So which is stronger? The movie Rise of Darkrai
showed Dialga badly injuring Palkia before Palkia fled. Maybe Dialga is stronger, but it’s all up to personalities, items, moves, and what type of opponent they face. If Palkia were to face a Fire type Pokémon he would probably win, but against a Dragon type he might not. So there is no set answer on which is stronger due to all the possibilities; it all depends on what you need in that Pokémon.
I THINK PALKIA IS STRONGER THAN DIALGA BECAUSE PALKIA IS A WATER TYPE AND DIALGA IS A STEEL AND WATER BEATS STEEL. PLUS IF DIALGA USES ROAR OF TIME DIALGA HAS TO PAUSE SO PALKIA GETS A FREE TIME TO ATTACK. SO I THINK PALKIA CAN BEAT DIALGA.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous: As I said, it all comes down to level, personality, ect. Palkia has the same issue with Spacial Rend and Water barely affects steel in the Pokemon games. It would be double not-very-affective because of the Dragon part of Dialga. I listed their ONLY weaknesses, ckeck that list. If you don't believe me, check Serebii.net or some other Pokemon website.

I say that if they battled each other in "real life" where stats don't really exist say that it would be about an even fight. But in the game I think Dialga would win because he has dragon moves which Palkia is weak against with STAB and the power of the adamant orb and roar of time. Palkia would put up a good fight but because Dialga's steel type makes dragon not super effective it wouldn't really work. You could teach Palkia aura sphere or earth power but he still wouldn't get STAB. But I still think Palkia is better
ReplyDeleteWELL MAYBE DIALGA IS BECAUSE IN THE MOVIE RISE OF DARKRAI DIALGA HURTS PALKIA VERY BADLY.BUT PALKIA IS STILL VERY POWERFUL.I THINK PALKIA IS MORE STRONGER.AND WHEN DIALGA USES ROAR OF TIME IT NEEDS TO REST SO THEN PALKIA CAN ATTACK IT.
ReplyDeleteEveryone thinks that when Dialga uses Roar of Time Palkia's gonna get a free attack. Not true. Roar of Time gets STAB, super effective and item boost if you have any brains. All in all, It winds up with 900 power (150 for move, x2 for super effective, x2 for item and x1.5 for stab) Dialga has higher base Sp. Attack than Palkia has base Sp. Defense. Roar of Time is powerful enough to do almost double Palkia's base HP. Dialga is a bit slower but Palkia can't get super effective AND STAB at the same time like Dialga so I think Dialga is stronger. In attack it's much better and it's better on defense because it's steel type
